Role Summary

This position is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the spa department daily operational tasks to include but not limited to; scheduling, inventory control, ordering of supplies, training, and delegation of duties. 

 

Accountabilities

  • Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the spa and ensure that the spa team understands and achieves or exceeds its set goals
  • Perform monthly and long-range forecasts, the annual budget and period end departmental reports
  • Train, coach (performance & skills improvement) & set a positive example for partners
  • Obtain guest feedback on product quality & service levels, and handle guest issues quickly and efficiently, whilst providing highest quality level guest service
  • Assist spa welcome partners in arranging group packages and appointments
  • Responsible for coordinating retail inventories, and ordering
  • Responsible for developing marketing strategies to increase sales
  • Coordinate tasks and work with other departments to ensure that the department runs efficiently
  • Prepare work schedules and payroll, reconciling of gratuities of partners ensuring accuracy, adjustments and distribution
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and maintain a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program
  • Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

 

  • A minimum of 2 years of spa management experience in a luxury resort hotel or a related industry is required
  • Formal training and certification in massage/body therapy and/or esthetics an asset
  • Strong professionalism, leadership and interpersonal skills, while having great business acumen with a solid understanding of revenue management
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Must be able to handle difficult situations with tact and diplomacy and be able to cooperate with other departments to foster and promote a harmonious working climate to maximize productivity and efficiency
  • Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities
  • An abundance of passion, creativity and attention to detail
  • Highly proficient in Windows O/S and Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
