POSITION TITLE:   People & Change Business Partner (US)

REPORTS TO:                 Director, People & Change Leadership

LOCATION:                    Seattle, WA

OVERALL ACCOUNTABILITY:       

 

Your primary focus is to provide Human Resources, Payroll and Benefits support to all Medianet, Dataclef and SOCAN US Business Units and affiliated companies.  While operating under sound polices and the latest HR tools you will build solid working relationships with front line business leaders and support them in meeting their people and business strategies ensuring that best practices are followed.

 

The successful candidate for this role will demonstrate an ability to operate effectively in a complex environment, showing sound judgement, discretion and effective decision-making skills. You will apply these skills to areas such as organizational development, payroll and benefits administration, talent acquisition and development, employee relations and change management initiatives.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Consulting (20%)

  • Be the first point of contact for any US HR matters (Dataclef, SOCAN US, other affiliated companies relating to HR, payroll, benefits, 401K)

  • Support HR strategic imperative for each US BU

  • Partner with BU to understand the roles and responsibilities for each of their teams

  • Provide employee relations support including policy interpretation and enforcement.  Swiftly resolve disputes and find solutions to problems. Conduct investigations and termination meetings. 

  • Participate in BU team meetings

  • Conduct exit interviews and compile quarterly analysis

  • Assist with identifying talent challenges/gaps and plan with a strong focus on key roles/contributors

  • Guide clients on how to develop and maintain a positive work environment to mitigate potential business risks

  • Support, plan and execute reorganizations exercises

  • Build relationships with non-management team members to mitigate potential impacts 

  • Manage US HR Inbox and provide guidance on general employee inquires RE: programs, policies and benefits

 

Office/Facilities Management (20%)

  • Respond to facilities requests and coordinate efforts of the building operators to resolve any problems or service request

  • Coordinate work of facilities vendors

  • Create ‘Work Orders’, coordinate payments and manage cost tracking for service requests by Building Superintendent and outside suppliers

 

Payroll/Benefits (15%)

  • Administer all US payroll related activities in accordance with payroll rules, legal, and company requirements with close to 100% accuracy

  • Administer all US benefits related activities in accordance with legal, policy and program requirements

  • Submit STD/LTD documentation

  • Administer 401kK related activities in accordance with legal, policy and program requirements

  • Assist with administration of Canadian payroll/benefits/pension and RRSP related activities in accordance with legal, policy and program requirements, as required

  • Manage payment process for all US Payroll/Benefit vendors

 

Recruitment (10%)

  • Assist with all US full-cycle recruitment, posting and sourcing for all vacancies as assigned

  • Coordinate job offers and new employee on-boarding with hiring managers and training, including the creation of offer letters, processing background checks and completion of required paperwork to initiate personnel files prior to first payroll

 

Dayforce Reporting & Data Integrity (10%)

  • Assist with accurately preparing and maintaining reports and briefing documents for partners/leaders in a variety of formats via Dayforce (PowerPoint, Excel, Word documents, etc.) as per required timelines

  • Enter, update, and maintain accurate employee details ensure proper documentation is obtained

 

Projects, Policies, & Programs (10%)

  • Support the successful development of HR programs, policies and projects in a timely, efficient and proactive manner

  • Act as a change management ambassador to articulate and promote programs, policies and other corporate changes

  • Create, analyze and present findings of HR analytics reports to assist with value added business unit initiatives

  • HR Projects as assigned (Leads/Owner of: Dayforce – related modules, BY specific projects)

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 – 3 years of progressive HR experience demonstrating knowledge of all functions of human resources including talent development, performance management, policy development, compensation, recruitment, employee relations and the ability to effectively leverage expertise to meet business requirements

  • 1 – 2 years’ experience in a payroll processing and benefits administration

  • Knowledge of Dayforce (Ceridian) and ADP payroll processing is an asset

  • A Bachelor's degree in human resources management, industrial relations, or a related field

  • SHRM is an asset

  • Knowledge of HR practices in US

  • Project management skills are an asset

WORKWEEK:

  • 40 hours per work week / 5 days per work

  • Modification of hours may be required from time to time to meet business needs

  • Less than 5% travel may be required
