PURPOSE

The Product Development Specialist supports the Design team in taking on many projects at a time and completing them in time. The Product Development Specialist is mostly autonomous with the style development and can sometimes be given special design projects to work on.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Putting styles into work and ensure the follow up of the prototypes.
  • Create Illustrator sketches and Monitor the product development in the computer system.
  • Follow up with sourcing department to ensure all orders are placed for their specific styles.
  • Making sure all information of a style is given to the costing team after the prototypes are approved.
  • Participate in the prints meetings and voice their opinions on prints
  • When given special projects, come up with ideas to be presented to the head of design.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

  • 5 years of experience in the fashion industry. Experience in women's fashion is an asset
  • Degree in fashion design
  • Technical abilities on Adobe Illustrator design software required
  • Demonstrated detail orientation and high sense of organization
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to take some initiatives
  • Great team player
  • Bilingual
