Founded in 1957, Joseph Ribkoff is an iconic designer, manufacturer and distributor of fashionable women’s apparel which is designed, sewn and produced in Canada and sold to 64 international markets. They are headquartered in Montreal where 400 of their 500 employees are based.  The Montreal location includes the corporate offices, production and warehouse facilities. 

The Pattern maker will be responsible to produce a pattern for the industrial production of garments according to the style supplied by the designer, using the appropriate equipment and materials

 

Responsibilities:

  • Produce patterns for balanced and proportional garment from development through to production
  • Assure clear and detailed specifications of measurements, bill of materials, construction methods and cutting guidelines
  • Study, analyze and interpret the sketch, picture or sample supplied by the designer
  • Assure feasibility and efficiency of construction methods and give appropriate feedback when needed
  • Assist in pre-production fit sessions

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Fashion Design Diploma
  • 10 years of experience in pattern design for ladies’ apparel;
  • Knowledge of computerized pattern design, ideally using Lectra;
  • Strong attention to details and precision;
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills;
  • Ability to effectively communicate in a professional manner;
  • Bilingual (French and English)
