The Opportunity

The successful applicant for this opportunity is an organized, detail-orientated individual who can work in a fast-paced distribution team environment with proven problem-solving skills.  Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.

In this role you will:

  • Supports Distribution team with daily activities.
    • Trains or oversees training of new associates on picking and packing processes.
    • Oversee auditing of outbound shipments
    • Reviews picking/packing issues on the spot and resolves or escalates as required.
    • Assists to resolve scanner issues.
  • Maintains shipping dock organization.
    • Ensures shipments are in the correct lanes, labeled and ready for loading.
    • Works closely with Distribution Coordinator to ensure accuracy of shipments.
    • Manages audits on completed orders for unit count accuracy before shipping.
    • Works closely with Materials Supervisor for stock transfers staged on Receiving dock.
    • Loads trailers as required with a high level of accuracy, focusing on balance and safety.
  • Manages regular inventory.
    • Coordinates with offsite 3pl for inventory movement
    • Performs location audits and resolves common inventory issues.
    • Monitors locations for correct product, HUs, labels etc.
  • Leads projects involving rotation of product such as rework on large quantities of units.
    • Works closely with leadership to ensure requirements are being met.
    • Ensures accuracy and organizational flow of inventory movements.
    • Maintains warehouse organization, creating space and moving products as required.
  • Drives compliance with health and safety measures.
    • Closely monitors associates working on the floor for correct PPE, safe lifting and forklift safety.
    • Trains associates on correct safety protocols and follows up as required.
    • Reports unsafe areas, situations, or behaviors immediately to the appropriate leadership.
  • Supports Distribution Supervisor as required on a variety of warehouse tasks.
  • Supports Inbound functions as required.
  • Other duties as required.

What You Need

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ years experience in a high volume, fast-paced distribution environment.
  • Leadership experience an asset.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
  • Professional communication both verbal and in writing.
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must have very strong customer service orientation with high sense of urgency in meeting objectives and deadlines.
  • Occasionally lifts, carries, positions, or moves objects weighing up to 50 pounds (up to 200lbs with additional lifting support from team-mates).
  • Occasionally works overtime.
  • Experience in use of personal computers and related programs (Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel).
  • RF Scanner experience considered an asset.
  • Previous experience working with SAP systems considered an asset.
