Job Summary:

ERCO Worldwide is looking for an E&I Supervisor to join our Saskatoon team on a permanent full-time basis! Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the E&I Supervisor is responsible for leading a maintenance crew comprised of Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) journeypersons. The E&I Supervisor is responsible to ensure safe and efficient application of E&I resources through planning, scheduling and daily supervision. He or she will need to develop a strong working relationship with other supervisors, trades, engineers, and managers in order to achieve department objectives.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Planning & Scheduling:

  • Review, prioritize, and plan E&I work orders
  • Schedule work orders based on priority, resource constraints, and equipment availability
  • Develop and plan the E&I scope of work for major annual shutdowns
  • Provide E&I support to capital projects and major maintenance projects
  • Support procurement activities for E&I tools and components

Supervision

  • Supervise the E&I crew to ensure safe work practices, good housekeeping, and compliance with site policies and CBA
  • Assign manpower and review/approve timesheets
  • Responsible for hiring activities within the E&I group

Health, Safety, and Environmental Leadership

  • Lead daily toolbox meetings
  • Facilitate monthly safety meetings
  • Conduct Safe Work Permit audits
  • Encourage near miss reporting and support resolution of hazards

Preventative Maintenance

  • Coordinate with operations to ensure timely completion of PM’s
  • Work to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the site’s PM program

Contractor Management

  • Responsible for managing onsite electrical contractors

 

Key Attributes:

  • Formal education in either the electrical or instrumentation field is required:
    • Journeyperson Trade Certificate, or
    • Engineering Technology Diploma, or
    • Bachelors Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years experience in an industrial E&I setting is required
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a supervisory role is required
  • Understanding of high, medium, and low voltage electrical systems is preferred
  • Understanding of process instrumentation and control is preferred
  • Effective written and oral communication skills are required
  • Proficient with computers including Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook is required
  • Familiarity with JD Edwards is considered an asset
