Job Summary:

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Commercial Manager sets the direction and oversees all activities related to Commercial activities (from strategy development through to implementation, execution and evaluation) while driving alignment with the corporate strategic direction and established systems and directives. Delivering on a broad range of responsibilities, the Commercial Manager must balance an ability to draw on well-established general management capabilities with a willingness to get directly involved in the operations (applying business/accounting skills) as required. Supports the Plant Manager in communications with the local community, corporate finance, suppliers, carriers and customers.

 

Duties and Responsibilities Include:  

  • Finance – complete all month end reporting, prepares all budgeting and forecasting, assists with internal and external audit requests, coordinate completion of annual property tax returns with outside consultant, complete monthly sales and use tax return with GA Department of Revenue.
  • Accounts Payable & Supplier Maintenance – manage supplier invoicing, adding and updating supplier information and ensuring suppliers are qualified to work on site.
  • Shipping and Raw Material Ordering and Receiving – responsible for documentation for chlorate and PurDOX shipments, enter and schedule appointments for all types of shipments, manage empty fleet to ensure enough empties available, coordinate repairs of railcars on site or at shop, liaison with all parties (corporate logistics, carriers, operations department), and responsible for coordinating raw material ordering with the Production Manager and scheduling deliveries.
  • Site HR/Benefit/Payroll liaison - help employees with payroll/benefit issues and be the liaison between the site and corporate HR to help resolve issues. Development and implementation of key people initiatives (i.e., training, talent development, skills planning, organization design, hiring/on-boarding, succession management etc.)
  • General Office Duties – ordering office and breakroom supplies, maintaining and requesting service on data room copier and copier in office, cell phone administrator.
  • Health and Safety Events – Participate in site safety tours, training, and SafeStart Leadership and Steering Committee.

 

Qualifications/Key Attributes:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in Accounting/Finance or Business
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience
  • Experience in logistics and supply chain is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Prefer prior experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Must pass pre-hire background checks and physical & drug screen
