Content And Social Coordinator - New Media Radio

About the Role:
Reporting to the Social Strategist, Corus FM Radio, you will be responsible for amplifying the best of Corus Radio’s content on social media, increasing audience engagement and upholding Global News/Corus Entertainment social media best practices. You will work with a small team of social media strategists, on-air announcers and promotions teams to create and curate digital content and position it for Corus Radio’s ever-growing social media audience in specific markets.
Create and curate digital content and position it for various social media platforms, aligning them to SEO best practices.
Strengthen audience engagement by posting, monitoring and responding to comments, messages and other feedback from users.
Craft social media copy and create visual content (thumbnails, gifs, photo collages, Facebook Lives, etc.).
Draft content calendars in collaboration with various teams for multiple social platforms across radio stations in specific markets.
Assist the Globalnews.ca team in sharing stories, as appropriate, to Corus Radio websites and social feeds.
Collaborate with and advise local markets on social media best practices and content standards.
Moderate Facebook comments on specific Corus Radio accounts. ‘Like’ comments and add links to comment threads in order to bolster engagement.
Check inboxes for messages coming in via Facebook. Forward and respond as warranted.
Analyze data in real time to ensure that we are meeting KPIs.
Work with announcers to capture on-air and behind-the-scenes contentand viral stories (if desired and when appropriate).
Collaborate on new innovative ways to create content and tell compelling stories across multiple platforms.
Implement paid campaigns on social platforms.
What We Need From You:
College or university degree (or equivalent experience).
At least 2-3 years experience in radio, online media or equivalent.
An expertise in and passion for radio and social media.
Excellent writing, copy editing and social media skills.
Strong working knowledge of Wordpress CMS.
The ability to write/produce web, text and social-media versions of news stories.
Experience using live streaming hardware and applications – Facebook Live, Instagram Live, etc.
Experience creating content for social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube).
Experience with third-party scheduling tools such as SocialFlow.
Experience creating and monitoring social paid campaigns using Facebook Ads Manager.
A familiarity with digital production equipment an asset, including digital video cameras, DSLRs, etc.
Familiarity with online tools and languages, including digital video, HTML, Photoshop, FTP, and Microsoft Office suite.
Diverse content experience across multiple verticals and formats, including digital video, text articles, blogs, social media tools, digital photos.
Excellent organizational, communication and creativity skills including the ability to brainstorm and create content that works on a multi-platform strategy.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and experience working with several internal and external stakeholders on various projects.
Must be able to adapt in a rapidly changing media and technology landscape.
Enthusiasm and passion for all things radio- everything from music, the arts, pop culture, sports, as well as a keen interest in technology and digital media.
