About the Role

Reporting to and working closely with the Chief Engineer of Vancouver Radio, you will be responsible for maintaining all technical broadcast related processes for all Vancouver radio stations, Sites, and the Corus Radio Network (CRN) distribution.


  • Maintenance, installation, and repair of On-Air Studios and Production Studios

  • Maintenance, installation, and repair of Analog, Digital, and AoIP Equipment and Systems

  • Maintenance, installation, and repair of RF and Transmission systems

  • Maintenance, installation, and repair of Computer and Server systems

  • Troubleshooting and/or repairing Networking Devices and systems

  • Troubleshooting and/or repairing building systems (HVAC, Generators, Site Monitoring, etc.)

  • Provide technical support for staff including technical requirements for Remote Broadcasts

  • Liaise with Building management to address facility issues (HVAC, Security, Parking, etc.)

  • Coordinate with other Departments (Local and Nationally) for Projects and Initiatives

  • Travel to Transmitter Sites for Weekly Maintenance

  • Document and communicate issues and fixes to all stakeholders

  • After Hours and On-Call hours as required

  • Ship and Receive equipment for projects or repairs

About You

What We Need From You:

  • Recent applicable and direct radio engineering experience in the role of a Broadcast Engineer

  • Graduate of a recognized electronics technician or technologist program preferred

  • High degree of technical competency and skills required

  • High degree of expertise and experience with radio technical equipment and processes

  • Extensive familiarity and experience with radio specific and general office computer software

  • Desire to grow within the industry and learn about new trends and standards

  • Ability to easily multitask and shift primary focus in response to changing needs
