Now about the job….

Reporting to the Director, Total Rewards, and leading a team of two direct reports, you will use your analytical and attention to detail skills to manage company compensation plans, policies and procedures as well as oversee People reporting deliverables to support all levels of the organization.



Compensation



  • Responsible for providing guidance, interpretation and support on Corus compensation policies and guidelines across all levels of the organization

  • Manage the job evaluation process by collaborating with the People business partner team, evaluating role mandates against job evaluation tools, engaging senior management for decision making and retaining rigorous recordkeeping system of JE results

  • Oversee and lead annual salary increase and incentives payout process including project management, document preparation, budget analysis, cost impacts, cross-functional leadership with People business partner team and Finance

  • Manage and make recommendations for Corus' annual short term and long term incentive programs and maintain accurate record keeping including Solium’s Shareworks equity programs administration system.

  • Manage submission of annual equity compensation awards recommendations to Board of Directors, provide quarterly Board summaries and conduct monthly audits to ensure accurate recordkeeping and accruals with Finance

  • Partner with Finance and People team senior leadership for sales compensation design analysis and recommendations

  • Maintain grade/salary structure through bi-annual benchmarking and annual market reviews

  • Through research and analysis of formal and informal salary surveys, generate reports and data on compensation market trends (e.g. government statistics, other research instruments, employment equity and stock ownership reports)

  • Based on analytical findings provide compensation data, guidance and recommendations to senior management for employee decisions

  • Oversee compensation functions of Dayforce HCM system including job and position set up management

  • Support the planning and development of the compensation system to ensure its integrity and compliance with federal and provincial Pay Equity legislation



People Reporting



  • Oversee People Reporting function ensuring data and information requests are being completed accurately and on time

  • Develop overarching understanding of company data to lead strategic planning and evolution of reporting function

  • Lead discussion with stakeholders to determine reporting needs and assess plan of action

  • Oversee vacation administration, recordkeeping and reporting including oversight of Dayforce HCM vacation module





REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Minimum 3 years’ compensation experience at the manager level preferred, or at minimum senior analyst level

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources program, CHRP or CHRL an asset

  • Attainment or working towards Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Compensation Management Specialist (CMS) designations an asset

  • Sound working knowledge of computerized HR systems and reporting, with Dayforce HCM experience an asset

  • Expert level of Microsoft Excel’s higher functions and Word mail merge, with good level of understanding of PowerPoint

  • Values the importance of statistical integrity through attention to detail and accuracy

  • Sound organizational and time management skills with ability to lead and prioritize complex multi-disciplinary projects with conflicting agendas

  • Works collaboratively across all levels of the organization with high degree of confidentiality and professional judgment; must exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with stakeholders

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Self-motivated and takes initiative in tasks and projects

  • Sound understanding of compensation and total rewards principles keeping abreast of legislative changes and trends

  • Performance management and coaching of direct reports
