Account Manager - Sales - Local

About the Role
Corus Radio Kitchener-Guelph has an exciting opportunity for an Account Manager to join our team! Reporting to the Sales Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for expanding our retail client base and maximizing local radio and digital sales revenue on 91.5 The Beat, 107.5 Dave Rocks, MAGIC 106 and 1460 CJOY.
Find, maintain and grow revenue – On-air and online
Develop new revenue streams from both assigned and unassigned accounts (cold calls)
Coordinate creative/ads from initial meetings through to production and client approval
Ongoing awareness of customers’ day to day challenges and local competition
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 3yrs of commissioned Sales experience
A strong work ethic matched by a desire to learn and grow
The ability to overachieve budgets; monthly, quarterly and annually
A self-starter with a consistently high level of initiative and self-motivation
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
The ability to determine client marketing goals and needs via active listening and
Aptitude and ability to absorb and apply analytical data
Computer literate – Exceptional knowledge of word/office
A creative thinker with the ability to translate ideas into marketing campaigns, promotional ideas and Radio commercials
Strong problem solving skills
The ability to work in a fast paced work environment based on both team and individual effort
A valid driver’s license and reliable automobile
A positive, professional, outgoing friendly manner with a foundation in customer service
Ability to attract new business and retain and grow current client base
Proven track record in business development
High level of knowledge in social/interactive media sales
Graduate of Business, Communications or related program
