Director, Global Distribution

About the Role:

Reporting to the Head of Nelvana Enterprises, you will be responsible for managing and expanding Nelvana’s content distribution business on a global basis, with direct management of the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand, as well as, oversight across the international team. You are passionate about the kids content industry, excel at strategic planning and leading a team of sales execs responsible for revenue generation.


Responsibilities:

Global Responsibilities

  • Oversee Nelvana’s content distribution businesson a global basis and achieve annual revenue targets

  • Develop profitable content distribution plans, including linear and non-linear, that will increase territory penetration in existing and emerging regions

  • Grow and strengthen Nelvana’s relationships with key customers, and negotiate and close ssubstantial broadcast deals with key customers

  • Provide sales projections per territory on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis

  • Leadership and management of a sales team based in Toronto and EMEA

  • Direct responsibility for Nelvana’s content distribution and consumer products business in the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand, ensuring alignment between broadcasters, international agents, licensing partners and retailers

  • Responsible for brand roll out plans for these territories, coordinating broadcast, toy, merchandising and retail activities either directly and/or via agents

  • Work with Head of Development to assess and develop potential new programming to fit within internal studio pipeline

  • Attend international markets, fairs,and industry trade shows to promote and sell Nelvana properties

About You

What We Need From You:

  • Post-secondary degree (university or college)

  • 8+ years’ experience in kids entertainment, broadcast and/or content distribution sales

  • Proven success developing sales strategy, generating revenue and managing partners/clients

  • Extensive experience negotiating distribution and/or licensing agreements, account management, business planning, sales techniques and changing trends in broadcast and entertainment

  • Proven ability to satisfy customers and build high value, relationships with customers and internal team members

  • Superb networking, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills

  • Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent leadership and management skills with ability to effectively communicate goals and inspire team to succeed

  • A leader who is motivating, innovative, collaborative and accountable

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
