Senior Manager Programming, Multi-platform Content
 

About the Role:

Corus Entertainment is looking for an experienced digital content specialist to lead the content and scheduling strategy across our growing portfolio of premium network branded sites, apps and non-linear platforms.

Reporting to the VP of Programming, you will be responsible for driving audience growth across a digital portfolio by developing and executing content and editorial strategies that leverage audience data and insights. You will support a team on the day to day operational ingesting and distribution of content

across multiple platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a content scheduling strategy for a digital portfolio that maximizes program rights and aligns with marketing priorities to drive customer retention and growth across all metrics

  • Manage and support a team comprised of Digital Content Producers, Digital Editors and Coordinators who together implement the content and editorial strategy across non-linear platforms, and support large scale sites for tent-pole shows ie: Big Brother Canada

  • Oversee the day-to-day operational ingestion and distribution of content across non-linear platforms ensuring a quality brand presentation

  • Maintain a solid understanding of all content across Corus network brands as well as audience performance among the various platforms in order to maximize content/editorial offerings, and cross-pollination

  • Work with internal departments to ensure projects meet defined goals by creating and monitoring project plans, timelines and budgets

  • Regularly monitor and analyze user data, attribution and trends, to iterate and optimize content strategy accordingly

  • Stay current with industry trends, new and emerging products, best practices and be an in-house expert on the capabilities of digital and best practices

  • Be a thought-leader on media consumption across digital platforms, and trusted advisor within the Programming team and across the organization


About You

What We Need From You:

  • Expertise in digital content and editor strategy driving audience growth

  • 6+ years of Content Strategy, Digital Strategy, Content Management experience, preferably in Media/Entertainment

  • Understanding of technologies underlying web, mobile and connected devices and thorough knowledge of emerging consumer internet-related technologies.

  • Understanding of best practices for consumer app experience and web based content

  • Familiarity with Agile development processes and related tools

  • Skills in web analytics systems (ie: Omniture) QA processes, Server Ops, UX and Design

  • Proficient in analyzing data and deriving actionable insights

  • Experience managing and fostering high-performing teams

  • Solution-oriented, highly motivated and a self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Exceptional communication, presentation and negotiation skills
