Technical Account Manager

Division: Television

Work Status: Full-Time

Location: Corus Quay – 25 Dockside Drive


About the Role:

Reporting to the Manager, Client Services and Ad Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing exceptional cutting edge advertising solutions using the latest technologies available. Other key responsibilities include:

  • Research new advertising technologies and methods to improve yield and revenue.

  • Evaluate and provide insights for new up and coming ad technologies and work with 3rd party vendors.

  • Support and troubleshoot with Ad ops, Audience and Programmatic teams and ensure all reported technical issues are resolved.

  • Help coordinate and execute the implementation of new ad technologies.

  • Create acceptance tests for all advertising platforms solutions, write test plans and help automate the Quality Assurance process.

  • Collaborate with sales, operations and web development teams and be the lead voice for all ad tech projects.

  • Participate in regular ad code reviews and help formulate and ensure adherence to both industry and Corus’ own best practices and guidelines.

  • Be an ad tech expert with a deep understanding of ad server capabilities, reporting metrics, future enhancements and understand how they relate to the digital landscape.


About You

What We Need From You:

  • Experience in programmatic advertising with an understanding of digital ad ecosystem and advanced technologies such as SSP, DSP and ad exchanges.

  • Knowledge of header bidding tags, server to server ad integration and ad serving workflows.

  • Proven expertise in researching technological trends.

  • Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or demonstrated industry hands-on experience preferred.

  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.

  • A technical person with an interest in revenue generation and yield optimization.

  • Familiar with ad serving technologies such as Google Ad Manager and ad code implementation.

  • Understands programmatic advertising, digital ad ecosystem and advanced technologies such as SSP, DSP, DMP and ad exchanges.

  • Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile Development.

  • Programming experience working with Microsoft technologies including Php, WordPress, JavaScript and Amazon Web Services.

  • Experience in all phases of database development and design.

  • Exposure to Test Driven Development (TDD) processes including unit, service, performance and regression testing.

  • Takes the initiative in tasks and projects; prioritizing and organizing tasks to maximize productivity.

  • Teamwork ability to work with multi-disciplinary, collaborative efforts.

  • Able to communicate technical concepts to coworkers of various technical backgrounds including sales, ad ops, web developers and content management teams.
