Board Operator - Programming General
About the Role:
The Corus Radio division has an exciting opportunity for a Part-time Board Operator in our Edmonton office. Reporting to the Director of Talk & Talent, the successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of board operating responsibilities during the weekend, and the week, as needed.
Smooth, professional board op-ing that meets the standards of a major market
Gather and edit audio to create a consistent soundscape for the show
Record and edit shows to be broadcast on the station
Producing promos and podcasts for shows
Updating the station’s website and social media feeds as required
Available weekends, evenings and/or weekdays
Provide vacation relief for other day parts when necessary
What We Need From You:
A strong knowledge and interest in the NHL and CFL
A passion for the news/talk format
Able to multitask, communicate with staff and handle high pressure situations
Knowledge of Media Touch and Burli
A positive, friendly manner and customer service approach that will enable the successful candidate to deal with challenging situations with empathy and sincerity
Detail oriented, accurate and a quick learner
Flexibility with working hours and embraces change
Proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel
