BIOVECTRA Inc. is a leading bio-science business in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, focused on contract manufacturing and product development of active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical intermediates, and bioreagents.

BIOVECTRA has an opening for a Quality Control Sr. Microbiologist. This is a permanent full-time position located in Windsor NS.

 

 

The candidate will be responsible for:

 

  • Outlining investigation plans and executing any associated work to determine root cause including identifying contaminants/environmental isolates.
  • Collaboration on method validation/verification
  • Technical writing
  • Identifying and implementing improvements to workflows in the micro lab
  • Training of staff on new techniques/workflows
  • Ownership of CAPAs and Audit responses
  • Complying with documented safety practices for the laboratory and the manufacturing facilities.
  • Performing chemical analyses when required.
  • Additional duties assigned, based on business needs and the department supervisor’s request.

 

The successful candidate for this position should have:

 

  • Bachelor of science in microbiology or related field. MSc Microbiology preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a microbiology lab in a cGMP environment
  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for non-sterile products with respect to microbiological testing
  • Experience investigating microbial data deviations and contamination events
  • Experience with environmental monitoring considered an asset
