We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Director, Communications to lead CAAT Pension Plan's strategic communications functions supporting the member and employer experiences and providing marketing support for the Plan's growth and other initiatives. This highly collaborative, cross functional leader will be responsible for the alignment of the Plan's key messages across all platforms.

The successful candidate will have technical experience in the following key areas:
  • Progressive experience in all areas of communications, working at a senior leadership level for a minimum of ten (10) years.
  • Demonstrated record of success in leading complex communication programs and initiatives from concept to implementation, that grow and enhance an organization's profile, reputation, and brand to diverse stakeholder audiences.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities, demonstrated through the building of highly engaged, professional and collaborative teams and the establishment of strong working relationships at all levels of an organization.
  • Leading a corporate communications team in identifying opportunities to develop new, innovative solutions, reaching strategic communication goals, delivery targets and benefits realization. Keen interest in staying current on emerging communications, marketing and research trends and platforms, seeking opportunities to apply them proactively.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective advice and support to a broader leadership team that results in the measurable enhancement of an organization's brand.
A University Degree and professional communications designation or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience, along with a minimum of ten (10) years of professional internally focused communication experience and at least five (5) years of direct people leadership experience in the delivery of large complex multifaceted communication portfolios is required. Relevant experience supporting a variety of internal stakeholder groups and departments with communications best practices within the pension, insurance or financial industries or other service related, member focused organizations is also required. Previous experience within jointly-sponsored or other multi-employer pension plans is strongly preferred.
